“I’m absolutely done! I’ll never watch again! MARK MY WORDS!” – Me.
I’ve said this at the closing of the the past three Phillies seasons in a mixture of anger and heartbreak. At the time, I couldn’t see myself going back on it. Why would I wanna feel that way again? Any normal person would see how unhealthy it is and back away. However, around this time every year I start to feel a tiny spark. I see the trades happening more and more. More and more, news starts coming out about the various teams in the league. Pitchers and Catchers are about to report to spring training. Baseball is in the air and I fall in love all over again.
MLB The Show 25 is launching on March 18th with early access on March 14th. It’s almost impossible to find the words how excited I am. It’s ‘built from the ground up’ for Next Gen consoles and it is no longer on GamePass. This should seriously revamp Diamond Dynasty since they no longer need to cover those lost purchase costs. On the cover are three incredible young stars:

I simply cannot WAIT! The game is frustrating to no end and can ruin my mood, but good lord it’s the most addictive game I’ve ever played. There is nothing like playing Co-Op with your friends and hitting a big home run to take the lead. Not only that, the game is truly created with the love of the sport. With modes like Road to the Show and March to October, you can immerse yourself in the world of baseball as much as you like. It’s absolutely wonderful. That said, I do wish other baseball games existed to push innovation like we used to have in the 2000s.
There is no sport that can create moments like the sport of baseball. For example: when Harper hit the go ahead home run against the Padres in the NLCS:
The weather was awful. It was cold and rainy. The pitchers couldn’t command their pitches causing us to lose the lead. We lead the series 3-1, however, a loss would cause us to fly to San Diego for 2 games. We certainly didn’t want that! While everyone was on the edge of their seat, Harper comes to the plate. You can see what happens above. No sport in the world can create a moment like this. Does it always go this way? Certainly not. However when it does, it is MAGIC.
That’s all I really have to say. Baseball is right around the corner and I am so excited. Not only to watch my beloved Phillies, but to also watch other teams. Except the Mets. F the Mets. 🙂
