For the second time in a row, the Phillies have left us heartbroken. It’s unbelievable. It was a monumental collapse of the team. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. All of our top guys decided not to show up. We were out played. We were out managed. We were out coached. By who? An actual team we should anticipate this with? HAH! The Arizona Diamondbacks. If you asked ‘who?’ to that, it’s perfectly acceptable. They are a nobody team. A team that shouldn’t be where they are. They should already on the golf course.
Yet we still lost to them in the fucking NLCS. We were up 2-0 in the series and completely let of foot off the gas. The Dbacks adjusted their pitching and we were unable to stop it. That’s unacceptable with a team like ours. We have way too many superstars for this to happen. Our entire lineup forgot how to play small ball. We had 8 bases stolen on us in one game. 8! That’s unbelievable!
I could write much more but I’m too exhausted mentally and emotionally right now. They lost the World Series last year, sure, but that was an unexpected ride. This year we were built to win. We were dominant and the favorites to do it. To watch this team fall apart the way they did was like watching a wormhole open up. It just wasn’t real, I couldn’t accept it.
I can’t grind 162 games anymore. I can’t do it to be left feeling like this.
